  2. EMS Software for Windows Install Tips:
  3.  
  4. NOTE: EMS Software "Windows" was written for Windows version 3.1 or later 
  5. and will not work with "Windows version 3.0". 
  6.  
  7. Also EMS Software for "Windows" will probably not install properly 
  8. if you are using Norton DeskTop or any other DeskTop manager other 
  9. than the default Windows program manager.

  14. Copy EMS to either an empty directory
  15. on your C: drive, or to an  A:\ or B:\ drive floppy.
  16.  
  17. Make sure you uncompress the file if it is in compressed form.
  18. Eg; If you received ONE file, that file is probably compressed.
  19.  
  20.  
  21. Test files have been included to give you a quick method of
  22. evaluating the program. 
  23.  
  24. Remember to delete all the test files before entering your own.
  25.  
  26. You must be running windows to install the program.
  27.  
  28. Select "File" from the Windows Program manager, then
  29. select "Run".  Type the drive you are using to install 
  30. Fire Fighter FROM: and type Setup1.
  31.  
  32. Example:  A:\Setup1 (if you are using the default drive.)
  33. Example:  C:\Bin\Setup1 (if you are using C: drive and a 
  34. directory called BIN). 
  35. Example:  B:\Setup1 ( If you are using B: drive.)
  36.  
  37. If you have typed in the wrong Drive and/or directory
  38. Program Manager will tell you it can't find the file.
  39.  
  40. Once Setup1 is running you will be asked for the name of the drive 
  41. you are installing FROM.  Drive A: is the default.
  42.  
  43. Setup1 will ask you for the directory you want to install
  44. EMS TO:.  The default is "C:\EMS". If there 
  45. is no directory by that name, Setup1 will create one. 
  46.  
  47. Setup1 will then install EMS.
  48.  
  49. If setup1 cannot find a file it will stop installing the program.
  50. If this happens make sure you re-read this text file and have
  51. ALL the files in the directory or floppy disk that setup1 has been 
  52. asked to install from.

  54. If the installation is successful:
  55.  
  56. Setup1 will then create a Windows group called "EMS Software for windows".
  57.  
  58. Please read the Help file for more information after installing EMS.

  60. There is also a Fire Department program available.
  61.  
  62. If you need a Fire Department program that will track roster,incidents, 
  63. training, maintenance and SCBA bottles etc. then call the Shuswap Opus BBS
  64. at 1-604-955-8174. Look in file area #7 for the latest EMS and FireFighter
  65. programs available for evaluation download. This program may also be found 
  66. on the Internet or on most BBS's.
